New member OOTDs (aka clothes I felt like throwing on at the moment)

Hello, I'm new! I've been lurking here and at Fatshionista for several months now. Since it's become such a regular and important part of my life I thought I should contribute, especially since inbetweenies has become more active.

Recently I've lost some weight, amusingly from quitting all that starvation foolishness society tries to force on us. I'm 21 and I've been dieting since I was 8 or 9, with several years of seriously disordered eating. It's not surprising that my body was confused. Anyway, I've lost some weight and now none of my size 18 clothes fit me. It wouldn't have been such a big deal, but I sew and I made most of my clothes. I put a lot of time and effort into my wardrobe, so it's kind of tragic. I'm in the process of altering what I can, but I want to look good now! I dislike baggy clothes(particularly tops), since I'm a hussy and desperately have to prove to everyone that I have a waist. So I've bought lots of clothes lately.

I'm actually leaving for Japan next Monday for summer study-abroad. I'm obsessing even more about looking good. I recently realized that I only have hoodies, so If I'm in a chilly place I don't have anything nice to wear. Does anyone know a good, cheap place to get cardigans? Does Target have any right now? Any tips for being in Japan would be much appreciated also.

Your model is 5'4", 210 pounds and tends to wear a 12/14. Is there anyone else who shares my weight/height/size? I think I may be a cyborg or made of lead or something. ^__^.

Sorry about the mess and the crappy quality. I'm packing and my camera is dead (good thing I found that out now, though), so you get crappy webcam photos. Hopefully the amount will make up for how bad they are ^o^

Before the clothing, everyone needs to marvel at my dreadlock fauxhawk.

Yes, yes, I know. I'm too awesome. ^__^.

NOW we can talk clothes! (you know you love how I'm pretending my wireless mouse is a remote shutter)

You might not notice, but I'm doing something with this outfit that horrifies me. I'm wearing jeans that aren't low-rise! It's so hard for me to find pants that fit over my (apparently ginormous) legs and butt that don't gap at the waist, so I just go with the lowest rise possible. But nay, these fit pretty nicely! They do seem to have a weird crotch thingy happening, and I'm a little freaked out by everyone seeing my button through my shirt, but I think I may be paranoid.
Pants:Gloria Vanderbilt size 12 Petite- Ross about $13
Shirt: Cocomo size Large Petite- Ross for about $7
Flats: Rampage size 8- I think from Ross for $10
You can also see my bag, which had $200 price tag, but I got it at TJ Maxx for $14! Yatta!

This outfit used to fit me so nicely! The tshirt is so baggy now and I had to take the skirt in. *sigh* oh well. Baggy isn't so bad if the bottom is short enough. (oh so skanky!) The skirt/tshirt combo is my normal every-day wear. I have very few pairs of pants.

tshirt: from my middle school chorus uniform @__@
skirt: DIY circle skirt. Somehow I manage to wear this on the windiest days .__.;;; Shorts are required!
Bandanna: somewhere, probably a dollar store.
Stockings: industrial net thigh highs from sockdreams.com
Shoes: sparkly heart chucks! women's size 8 A gift from my sister

Yes, I'm aware that I'm silly. I'm not a big fan of the way this dress fits, but I love the fabric. I just can't shake the feeling that someone's going to ask me if I'm pregnant. Maybe I'll take it in or wear a belt next time. I wore this with fishnets before, but I think bare legs may be better.
Dress:Tiana B. size L. From Ross ~$20
Shoes: Tommy Hilfiger size 8.5

I think this dress may also need a belt or something. Maybe something really wide would work without looking weird with the empire waist. I'm addicted to stockings, but I refrained from wearing them. If I really want to wear them, are white fishnets or black/white stripes better? I have no aversion to mixing patterns, as long as the colors work...and sometimes even if they don't ^__^;;;
Dress: JFW(just for wraps, i think) size XL from ross ~$12
Shoes:Nicole size 8 from Ross for $10

Thanks for reading this long, image-heavy post. Hopefully I'll be a permanent fixture here ^__^. Feedback is appreciated!
