I'm lmao, down here. We got 5 inches of snow last night/early this morning. It's a record, or something. Last year, the high for today was 82 degrees. Needless to say, people are freaking out.
The govt has closed almost everything. Half the people in the area are without power. No one's going out on the road, due to "extreme weather conditions," and the local news channel ran ridiculously long "special coverage of the event," all morning. They did not, however, cancel today's Days of Our Lives episode, but did push it back an hour.
I'm at work, where we are (once again) sold out. We were close to sold out BEFORE the snow. The phone has been ringing nonstop from people trying to find a room. The other hotels in the area should give me a sales bonus or pay me for being a local dispatch operator.
I understand that people from here have rarely seen this kind of weather, but i can't help but find it all amusing. It's utterly hilarious watching people freak out over snow! I'm afraid to see what's going to happen tonight, when the weather freezes.
