4th Trace - [Action post]

[Walking outside in the rain with only an umbrella to shield him from the elements, Shirou continued to walk aimlessly around the town as if he were lost-- or looking for something. Or someone. Still, whatever the case is, he was pretty far from his house by now so he kept on going.]

Geh! This rain isn't going to let up any time soon after all. I ( Read more... )

[Shiki had been staring out the window most of the storm. I mean, what else was there to do? Suddenly that familiar figure walks across his eyesight. Shiki can't help but run and open the front door.]

W-What are you doing out there? Are you a moron? Get over here and dry off!

[Shirou's head snapped to the direction to where the familiar voice was coming from. At first he was confused on why Tohno would call someone a moron for out in the open like that, but that was when he realized that it was Shirou himself being called that. Of course he didn't take it well at first but the cold rain hitting against the legging of his pants reminded him where he is at and what he is doing.]

Hey. Before you start saying things like that, at least listen to others first when you ask your first question instead of calling people names without knowing the reason why like a moron.

And I'm out here for many reasons, Tohno. This weather isn't going to let up anytime soon so I might as well do what I need to do now and get it over with.

[This guy-]

You really are a moron, aren't you? At least get over here and dry off. If the rain isn't going anywhere, neither is the places you're going to visit.

[His face shown a more serious expression after hearing that, but instead of accepting Shiki's offer after hearing something that made sense to anyone, Shirou shook his head and still stood where he was at without budging an inch.]

Sorry, but I can't... it's true that places won't be going anywhere, but a person could be. I'm aiming to find that person. This isn't someone that I can allow be running around with the possibility of harming others. That is my main reason out here... I'm just doing other tasks also because I can take care of them all at once.

Look, you-

[shutting the door and then coming back outside with a raincoat]

At least don't go by yourself. If you end up collapsing out here, who's going to know?

[Whoa, what the--]

Are you serious? You could get sick yourself too, Tohno. I'm not too worried about myself as I am for everyone else and besides, it's going to take a lot more than just rain to get me beat.

You know, before I came here, I would have said the exact same thing. Thankfully, I got a little lucky and when I came here, my anemia didn't come so I'm just as healthy as anyone else. In short, I'm not going to be beat out by you.

... if you have a health condition also, then that's even more of a reason not to come. Even if you are healthy now, what if it suddenly hits you at a random moment? It might be you who would be collapsing out here in the rain instead of me.

I'm just glad Reisen-san gave me her address in case someone does need medical attention. Now I know I have to keep an eye on you, Tohno... you could have told me about that earlier.

Anyway, you've heard about the fire incident, right?

It's not going to suddenly come back. My best guess is that it will show up during a regain and I'll be prepared for it then. And don't go keeping an eye on me. That's plain creepy.

Yeah, I heard about that one. I didn't offer too much to help because I'd probably just get in the way. I've never dealt with a fire before.

I was more implying that I'll be watching out for you in case something happens. What's creepy about that? The moment it comes back means the moment you are susceptible on getting it again.

... come on, let's get going if you're going to be coming with me then. [With that said, he rose the umbrella a little higher upward and at an angle so that the rain won't be drenching him so much as it was before and resumed his patrol in the city. But what caught my attention more was that it had the big shots of this town that controls the police and everyone else there, right? But suddenly went into flames for unknown reasons and judging from what I've hard, there were no signs of the police anywhere. I hope I am wrong, but if wasn't even one police officer to be there at the scene of the crime then it could mean two things... either this arsonist is a member of this police force and could target different location for their next fire attack, or someone else that can harm both the officials of this town and also us, the people in this town, as ( ... )

[listening a bit before opening his mouth]

People I've spoken to think it was the new mayor, the milkman.

[Now that made him stop in his tracks.]

The new mayor? But why would he destroy a part of the town like that? It makes no sense... but then again, I know nothing about this milkman. Do you?

Story has it that he's delivered milk with body parts in it and, this one might be a rumor, but milk with poison in it too. If that's true, why wouldn't he burn down a building?

Tohno. Do you know what building it was for the mayor had to leave from and return to from his former duties?

We might find something about him if he left anything behind from his former milkman duties. Where the poison comes from, exactly where the sources of those body parts come from and why wasn't it stopped.
