As I look up at the clear blue skies
I need to sit and wipe my eyes.
Remembering those days being with you
in the sand, near the ocean blue,
splashing around, building a castle
heh, you thought we were a hassle.
We didn't know how sick you were
but as the cancer grew, it began to stir
in our minds, in our hearts
the time will come when we will part.
Now I sit here on the grass
feeling the blades before going to class,
the memories of you, still in my mind
and our souls will forever bind.
a poem to you, our beloved mother
the one who was like no other
