(no subject)
Well...choir was definately interesting today. Our concert is next Tuesday and it seems like I haven't had a break to just sit and be Michaela. I talked to Laney earlier this week about a song called "Domine ad adjuvandum" (latin barouque) song and I noticed there was an alto solo that we never went over in class. So after missing a class of choir, Heather(our accompanist) told me that they were going over it and then some people in my section designated me to the solo. I feel honored but also a little exhausted. I truly love music but I'm feeling overlaoded. So...for about two days RobLaney never mentioned anything to me. "Ok, I guess he decided he didn't want me to sing it...ok...it's cool." Well, we are rehearsing classes, he assigns solos to sections instead of individuals so I assume all of the altos are going to sing it. WE sing it but I carry the section through sightreadind. Rob then flips through the pages, says "Michaela will do the alto solo in measure 51", then moves on to the next song. "Ah....I thought I was a procrastinator." Ok, I am very pleased I have the oportunity because I know I can handle the few measures. But, I guess he knows Ican pull it off. Anyway, that was probably the highlight of my week. GOd has blesses me beyond compare with gifts, talents, love, and people in my life but sometimes I think he tells me to slow down and breath and know he is there. Man...I really need the holy spirit to make all decisions these next few months.
