good deeds, good dogs

I just found a 45? lb, energetic dog wandering around my house. I brought her into my backyard and called the numbers on her tags. They were for the humane society, which is currently closed. I had a hunch because a few weeks ago I was walking Vix a few blocks from home and a dog climbed a chain-link fence to meet her; I felt like I recognized the dog. I walked this dog (attached to leash via Vixen's seatbelt b/c the dog kept slipping its collar), to where this had happened. A guy on the way there answered, "Yeah, there's a guy looking for a dog.... He's kind of weird, though." Granted, I'd be weird too if my dog was gone. I get there and a man comes out of the darkness of another street holding a beer can, and said, "She just slipped out the patio door when I went to let the garbage out. I just got her from the humane society." I gave him recommendations on getting cheap dog tags with his phone number on them. I feel like I saved a pooche's life, maybe, just because of all the big streets we live near and because it's so dark. This makes me very happy.

People just don't know how wild da burbs get. I mean, there's people stealin the metal garbage cans near my hizzy, and the dogs runnin loose make me dizzy. Projects Ridge, yo.
