Yeah so when it rains it really pours. Today I've gotten five calls from prospective employers. The first call was to reschedule a second interview that was supposed to be today at ASAP software (one of top 25 chicago companies, great benefits, well known) to friday. Another call I missed and might not call back because the position doesn't appeal to me and it's through a staffing agency. I've had bad luck with staffing agencies. The other three calls were from people that had seen my interview on careerbuilder.com, one of those being from careerbuilder.com itself. I'm inclined to prefer the big name companies because they would be widely recognizable later on in my career. It's after 5, now. That means it's no longer standard business day and the likelihood of getting calls diminishes. Nonetheless, I'm conditioned to thinking that the phone is ringing because of an employer. In the next two days I have four interviews. Ah! It's going to be hard to keep where I'm supposed to be plus who I'm speaking with plus what I'm saying all straight! Wish me luck!
Also, tonight I get my cymbals back from Phil Berko after almost five years. I'll be taking them into Guitar Center with the set to see if I can potentially trade it all in for more guitar gear. Maybe an electric, an acoustic electric, or a new acoustic. Haven't decided. Must wait and see how much I can get for the other stuff.
Tonight I'm going to a show with my mom in the city, where Miegg's field used to be. Should be a cool venue (I hope) because it juts out of the water like a peninsula with the harbor on one side, the lake on the other, and the skyline along the coast. I miss the backwaters (I'm joking!) of Madison, but it sure is nice to have vibrancy of the City so accessible.
