hieneken and sawdust

I've been thinking I should use this thing a bit more regularly and tonight was definately a time that seemed right.

Ever get those times when you realize things have changed a touch....or already changed and you've noticed, but it's funny to see it re-enforced and it REALLY has changed, it's not just late night, melodramtic thoughts....you're no longer the queitly distracted 15 year old, or the awkward uncool 18 year old, or the overly-intimidated and still way too quiet kid in a new town 20 year old........suddenly those two NEW buddies are the your oldest, dearest friends that you realize you savour the rare chance for a couple hours away from the home with, building stuff and talking shit in the most predictable, lame, guys doing guy stuff way (even if it's building a climbing wall, instead of fixing cars or whatver those dudes do). It's funny, realizing nothings changed much since settling in to this town, at least as far as the key players are concerned, we're less foolish in some ways, but as dumb as ever...just taken a little more seriously when we wake up too early and wash the sawdust out of our hair to get to the office/school/whatever, that though good, is still not the foolish, mindless work that leaves so much time for dreaming of better things (that I realize sometimes, we will have go back to the office/computer/school to actually accomplish) and talking shit with no concern for ridiculous mis-interpretation, 'cause it's ok, we all know each others insecurities and weird over-compensating behaviours.

Yea, it's nice to get a couple free hours that, despite the awkward weirdness of actually playing music, or actually getting paid to do something more than put a tree in the ground, or good friends living too far away, there's always the some olds, knowing nothings changed but the surrounding bullshit....(that's a slightly overly melodramtic end quote...but anyone who knows that quote and me/my closest friends knows how hilariously lame we are).
