julie

Tonight I got to host one of the people who's music has meant more to me than almost any other band or artist. I kind of feel like I should be writing something terribly profound, but I think mostly I'm just so relieved...that and exhausted. It was a touch nerve wracking knowing julie would see us play and hoping people would show up and give her the audience she deserves. Fortunately I've managed to stumble into a wonderful group of people to play and promote music with, so everything managed to work very well. We played the best set we've played (still a bit shakey of course) and we got to see julie with the best crowd I've seen since the final fantasy show last year....and we paid julie more than she'll make at any other canadian show. All pretty sweet considering I've really just started getting into promoting shows and how this band has really only been playing together about 5 months. It's been such a busy time and I'm still unsure how it/I am being pereceived, but despite a few mysteriously ripped posters around town and a few key people being absent from shows, it's been so nice to realize people who I've held in such high esteem not only tolerate playing with me, but geniunly seem to enjoy being in this band and putting together these shows.

Thanks so very kindly to everyone who showed up tonight, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, there really aren't too many people who's performances I appreciate as much as julie's and to have had the opportunity to promote and play a show that went as well as tonights is something I'll hold dear for some time.
