So, this is just self indulgence. Ever wondered how Ron and Charlie took it when their respective girlfriends informed them of Ginny's 'fling' with Remus?
So I was going to review every chapter, but that plan went all to hell when I started reading and got caught up in the story. So you’re getting the 7:00 AM all-chapter comment, which will probably make less than no sense, completely lose you, and cause you to laugh yourself off your yoga ball.
I really love this story. The characterizations are so good, and there’s a couple quotes in each chapter that are worth quoting at people. I had to refrain from sending most of them to Mad, though, since her brother was reading over her shoulder.
When Remus cries after the chain incident it’s so very heart wrenching. The poor man - so lonely, so imperfect, and so completely in character. There’s a few similar ‘low’ moments in the story that are very nicely done, the dark moments where the war and their own negative emotions catch up with them. And there’s so many wonderful humorous moments.
Obviously the conversation between Arthur and Remus: “Are you telling me my daughter’s in heat?” etc is one of the more hilarious ones, but there are others. The confrontation between Tonks, Remus, and Ginny is pretty amusing as well, and the one between Tonks and Charlie in the addendum. I like the tiny appearance of Snape, and the suggestion that he doesn’t find Ginny as repellant as the others.
This story is really the one that made me start fangirling you, though a couple of the scenes in Into the Dark are damn good, too. So I think I’m going to go dissolve into a puddle of fangirlishness now. If you need me I’ll be at the altar sacrificing virgins to your plotbunnies, or perhaps invoking an incantation against writer’s block. See you!
