A Little too Much Excitement
What is it with Persephone? Every time we land there, we get trouble. This time I decided just to stay on board, forget about even trying to service any clients. I've got enough for the rent at the beginning of next month so it was not really necessary.
First off we end up with a bunch of chickens to transport, and, as if that isn't bad enough, there presence here drives poor little Blackmarket right up the wall. He starts howling his little fool head off and it takes River to finally quiet him down.
I went down to the kitchen where I made some tea to help settle my nerves some and while I'm there I hear a gun shot from the passenger area. I go to investigate and there is Book standing over his now dead friend. Apparently Book had caught him in the act of reporting River and Simon's presence. I hope he was successful in stopping him before any important information was transfered.
Poor Book looked rather shocked by the whole thing, but he pulled himself together rather quickly. He is insisting on a proper burial when we land on the next planet. I can understand that, Ben may have turned on him, but he was still a friend.
I think there is a lot about Book that we still need to learn.
