The life of a pet-momma isn't easy.

Feeling so lucky. The dogs woke me up needing to go out-a bit unusual at nearly 3:am. Realized, while waiting for them, that Scathach (kitty on thyroid meds, v sweet & v skittish) isn't where she usually is. Check house. How old is she now? That is frightening, and in a storm, too! Our oldest cat is 14 years old; solid, healthy and indoor only and I'd be scared to death if she got outside in our new rural location. There's just too many big animals, domestic and wild out there, as well as other dangers that a pampered non-barn cat has never encountered.

Wow, it sure does. Jack (female) is 14 yrs, and around 12lbs, but she is a very long and tall cat. She's doing well for her age, looks and acts more like 8 to 10 years old and she made herself an indoor cat many years ago after something frightened her enough to not want to venture out anymore while she still lived in Michigan. She would try for a while after the incident, but got panicky at the door after only a few minutes and attempted to break to the door down so she's been indoors since. She enjoys a few leash led excursions onto grassy areas, but I don't trust her to roam after so many years indoors.
