Things have been hectic ... but then again, what's new?
Quick summary: Got over the flu. Had an allergic reaction to something, broke out in hives for three days, got a shot in the hip ... if only I knew what it was I could add it to the List-Of-Weird-Things-Kristin-Is-Allergic-To (i.e. eggnog, pot, hearts of palm). Survived midterms. Got a great account at work ... lots of experience, stuff for the portfolio, and good references in store ... not to mention working with a kickass lady who has become my adopted mentor (Hey, if you can bill at $300 an hour and swear like a fucking sailor, you might be my mentor too). Been working my ass off and I'm dead tired.
Had a good weekend. Very good.
Everything will totally pay off in the end. Soon enough this town will just be a bad blur in my rearview mirror. The only reason I'm working so goddamn hard is because I know it will all be worth it. Sometimes you have to work until you think you can't stay awake another second. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices. Sometimes you need to step outside the situation to figure out what it is that you want and how to achieve it. Sometimes you need to put something down, step away from it, and pick it back up once you have a different perspective.
I could say more about a lot of things ... but the only person who really needs to know already does.
