Ode to the rise of the minority.....

Yesterday was my first chance to get out and vote. It was such an amazing experience.

This election was extremely important and I'm so honored to have been a part of it. For those who may not follow to closly... The Democratic party took control of the House and then later announced...took control of the Senate. The change the country desperatly needed is slowly arriving. With the Republicans holding the majority, it was a slow and messy digging into a hole. Stubborness does not always portray a steadfast country...it was starting to portray a ignorant government. The now humbled president is preaching that he is eager to work together with the Democrat's for the common good (however with them in control of all of congress...I think he is obligated). Hopefully he will and hopefully we can climb out of the hole. Now I'm not saying that now that the Democrats are in office **poof** the U.S is perfect. I just think that with them in control of what bills are seen and by whom...there is a better chance for change.

Donald Rumsfeld, the secretary of defense (position originally called Secretary of WAR...but then softened for some reason), resigned. The Democrats wanted this and hell...the Republican party (to save the image of their party) wanted this. President Bush...not so much. However, ol Donald is done and a new secretary of defense was introduced to us Americans around 3:00pm today. Change....I didn't expect to see a change that big so soon. However, he was a lying sneaky man and I'm glad he is no longer in control of anything. (I mean when your own generals are slandering your name....you gotta be doing something terrible).

Change is coming. This country desperatly needs change. Us citizen folk made it obvious to our president that we do not approve of this party's handling of the country...and if it were a presidential election rather than a midterm congressional election.......Democrats would have power over the White house as well.

Long live the new Majority of both the house and senate.
Long live democracy.
Long live Ashley's random political rambling. Sorry guys. :)
