A Day At The Polls

May 07, 2015 21:01

Busy day today. We took the dogs out for their morning walk via the polling station (which has been moved from the village hall which is part of a building project, to the church hall). Lil held them while I went in then we swapped. Well behaved dogs are allowed in polling stations but our pair do not qualify. Though we did once take a cat (in a carrying box) to vote on the way back from the vet.

On the way down to the forest we met a lady who asked if she was on the right road for the Country Park car park. Alas not - so we walked through the woods with her and left her at the lake - hopefully the walking party she was supposed to meet at 11 were waiting (it was ten past by then).

And then we looped back to the village to buy milk and bread, and got home to find that my knitting needles (and case) had been delivered. Sorted those, and spent the afternoon watching the racing and knitting a tension square.

The dogs got a second walk in the woods, and then off to agility class - only to find the road to the equestrian centre closed and a diversion in place. Any hopes that the closure was to fill in the holes in the unmade road were dashed as it was apparently an emergency repair of a water main.

We had some nice agility courses - good practice for Sunday's show in Redhill. Though I have no confidence that Draco's rehearsal indicates any improvement in performance on the day. We shall see.
