The 21st Century - not quite as bad this week
I am very aware that I have been posting more on Facebook than LJ/DW, and this is not helped by the fact that when I went into LJ yesterday it presented me with its new interface and I have been unable to get back my old look. The new one (after some tinkering) is barely distinguishable from FB, and only gives me 10 posts instead of my preferred 30 (and yes, I have clicked that button until my mouse is exhausted). Will have to do some more tinkering later.
Cat (Flash) to vet today to have his teeth done (seven have been extracted) He is home now and despite vet orders to serve him nice soft scrambled egg has decided to steal the wet food put down for the Orientals. Typical cat.
I have been fighting with the TFL online system to get the details of my travel card logged so that I can print out an 'invoice' to claim back my costs for jury service (since I'm retires the only costs are travel and subsistence). Finally gave up and phoned them, and a very nice man promised to post me the necessary paperwork - I have the impression that the 'i-society' is not quite as all pervading as its exponents would have us believe and it is still, just about, possible to survive without having to do everything online.
Which is a relief.
Today's pre-Bake Off bake was Raspberry Buns. And very nice too.
Now all I have to do is find out how to kill the 'aps' that are using up all the memory on my hard drive (I bookmark stuff I need, why do I need any other way of accessing it?)
