We have a couple of options tomorrow (aside from staying home and vegetating) - go down to watch the Olympic Torch which is being lit (in a private ceremony) at Redbridge Cycling centre about a mile away from here (this means a walk as there is nowhere to park the car) before being carried (it's unclear whether by van or on foot), along Forest Road to Fairlop Plain (which is one of our regular local dog walks - of which more later), at 7am, or get up at a more reasonable hour and drive up to Audley End for one of their Victorian open days.
We shall see.
Meanwhile, Photos of our last trip to Fairlop with the dogs. [Under spoiler cut]It was wet. Very wet.
In fact this pond is in the middle of the main (surfaced) path.
This is Nothing Is Set In Stone an 'interactive sculpture' by musician Mira Calix temporarily installed as part of the 'cultural Olympics' on Fairlop Plain. (It makes noises - this confused Draco dreadfully the first time we encountered it).
And this is the lake across which the Torch will be sailed.
