Writing Update and a Poll
I still haven't got round to doing the f-list sort, so am doing cuts instead.
Well, the pitch-hit fic turned in at just under 10k (which surprised me probably as much as it surprised the mods). Could have been a longer and I may do a revision when the fest's over. But I am feeling rather smug about hitting the deadline.
Meanwhile, since regular wordage updates seemed to help me keep on top of that, a round-up of the current WIPs
1. Daily Deviant. Deadline 31 May. Words to date: 11 (and a title….)
2. Revised Singapura Breeding Policy. Deadline September. Words to date: 0 (but since it’s based on the Asian version this is mostly a search-and-replace process. Boring but necessary. Also Lil has promised to do the genetics bits.)
3. Off Book II. Deadline - sometime before 19 November? Words to date: 2,030. Lots of dialogue, snark and innuendo. Plot all over the place. No title yet.
4. Christmas fic (leftover mini-fest from 2009) Deadline: December 2010. Words to date: 2,700. Half a plot. Need to read more Classic Detective Mysteries.
5. Lucius Big Bang. Deadline - November. Words to date: 0. Ideas? Nil (TALK TO ME, DAMN YOU!)
6. Something (Ritchie!)Sherlockian. Deadline - none. Words to date: 0. But have ideas involving the Difference Engine, a mysterious (computer) worm unknown to modern science, a Constantine ancestor (sadly Lady Johanna is too early), steam-powered androids and… well, the kitchen sink…
Will go to the laundrette to wash some pillows tomorrow and get started on #1.
