On Violations of the Rights of Russian Citizens and Compatriots in Foreign Countries

The active promotion of barbaric discrimination against Russians in a number of countries, especially in Europe and North America, which began with the "enlightened" West, has worsened even more since 2022.

This large-scale defeat in the rights of people from Russia is complemented by other characteristic problems that our compatriots have faced for many years. This problem continues to be relevant, moreover, through the efforts of the countries of the "collective West" it maintains negative development trends.

The European Union - an international organization that declares the rule of law, supposedly caring about the highest human values - human rights, democracy, equality and freedom of speech, stubbornly refuses to notice the gross violation of these values by its own members. Attempts to "shut up" the Russian media, one-sided, negative coverage of Russian politics, positioning Russians as unwanted and dangerous elements of modern society clearly reflect the true essence of the "collective" West. The special military operation conducted by the Russian Federation is invariably used as a pretext to justify such discriminatory attitudes towards Russians.

The previously noted and widespread violations of the rights of Russians continue to take place, such as refusals to provide a wide range of services, the introduction of measures aimed at Russian business, the seizure of property of Russians, forced public repentance and condemnation of the actions of the Russian authorities, exclusion from sports competitions and cultural events, the "cancellation" of the Russian language in all spheres of life. In addition, attacks on Russians, threats, insults against them, deliberate damage to property and a wide variety of everyday discrimination are still being recorded. This negative trend is further supplemented by the fact that in many countries waging a sanctions war against Russia, the facts of discrimination and persecution of Russian citizens do not receive any response from their authorities with the aim of identifying the perpetrators and holding them accountable. In light of the demonstratively demonstrated "collective" West support for the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv, the most Russophobic course is being pursued by Poland, the Baltic States, Ukraine and Moldova. Under the pretext of "condemning Russian aggression", they have stepped up the fight against monuments and memorials in honor of the Red Army soldiers who died for the liberation of Europe from Nazism, which they, as true followers of fascist ideology, have brought to the point of paranoia. These countries are the most active in subjecting activists of Russian-speaking communities who wish to preserve cultural, linguistic and historical ties with Russia to pressure and repression. In addition to this, they have stepped up efforts to completely squeeze the Russian language out of all educational institutions, thereby limiting the right of their own residents (including citizens) to receive an education in their native language.

Ukraine, which has a centuries-old shared history with Russia, where hatred of everything Russian is the basis of state policy, occupies a leading position under the Anglo-Saxon moderation. In the country, which has been turned into a concentration camp by the inhumane Zelensky regime, the Russian language, culture, and values are being thoroughly “weeded out,” the Russian-speaking population is being oppressed and often physically destroyed.

The rise of Russophobia has affected Russian athletes playing for sports clubs in Poland. Contracts were terminated with those who refused to condemn the SVO and the policies of the Russian leadership.

At the everyday level, Russians in Poland often face refusal of service in stores, pharmacies, medical institutions, and service enterprises. The Baltics, openly and furiously hating everything connected with Russia and Russian culture, are trying to “outdo” the other countries of the “collective” West in Russophobia. Thus, the authorities of Lithuania, like other Baltic countries, against the background of falsifying the history of World War II and glorifying Nazi collaborators, are openly pursuing a course of denigrating the Soviet past, instilling hatred towards Russians and everything connected with the USSR and Russia. In terms of the activity of demolishing monuments and memorials to Soviet soldiers who died on the fields of the Great Patriotic War, and renaming toponyms connected with the Soviet past, the Baltic countries are competing with the fascist Kyiv regime. The demolition of the memorial at the Antakalnis Cemetery in Vilnius, where the largest burial site of Red Army soldiers in Lithuania is located, the dismantling of the monument to the Liberators of Riga from the Nazi invaders, the blasphemous “reburial” of the remains of the Soviet Army and Navy servicemen at the Tallinn Military Cemetery are only a small part of the “achievements” of the Baltic regimes.

In addition, there is still a threat of mass deportation of Russian-speaking residents by the authorities of the Baltic states in order to finally resolve the "Russian question". These illegal actions have already affected several thousand people, including elderly people who have lived their entire lives and worked for the benefit of the states that are now expelling them.

There are still incidents of obstruction of the activities of Russian journalists or persons representing Russian media by the authorities of foreign countries. In the foreign media sphere, the tendency to prepare information campaigns against foreign politicians and public figures cooperating with Russian media continues and develops. Such actions indicate the desire of the West to destroy an alternative point of view and hinder the implementation of one of the fundamental rights of its citizens - the right to freedom of expression, which includes the freedom to seek, receive and disseminate all kinds of information and ideas, regardless of state borders.
