The Circus starring Britney Spears

Apr 28, 2009 18:24

Almost a week later, I'm still speechless that I saw Britney Spears live. The only way to describe it is fucking surreal. When the show started, I could not move. My mouth was wide open. I think I started tearing up. Betty and I gripped each other's arms for dear fucking life. (Circulation might have been cut off; we're still not sure nor do we care.) Then probably halfway through Circus I remembered the words and started singing and dancing along.

There's no doubt that she's not the best singer and her dancing surely is not what it was once upon a time, but that woman puts on an amazing show. The way she fiercely strutted about the stage alone made every dollar--no matter what seats you had--worth it. I couldn't even see her fucking FACE (seriously, this was our view), but hands down this show was the best concert I've ever been to. I've never felt the way I felt that night seeing anyone, not even the Backstreet Boys which is obviously saying a lot. I actually can't describe how I felt other than OMG!!1!1!! lol

She is, was, and always will be a fucking legend. She's not going anywhere. Deal with it, bitches.

PCD opened. They were good. Nicole's voice is crazy good. I kind of feel bad for the other "dolls" since they don't really do anything but dance and stretch in the background.

I was surprised to see that sitting next to me were three girls that could not have been older than eight years old. Baby One More Time (possibly even Oops) is older than these girls. I mean there's nothing wrong with that (I don't think?), it was just surprising. They were gone before Britney though. How disrespectful! lol

After PCD, Betty and I decided to get drinks because, well, we can. So we went and stood in the longass line at the bar, looking at the interestingly dressed folks walking by. (The freaks sure do come out at night.) But as we're standing in line still a ways away from the bar, we hear a whistle blow in the arena and someone ask, "Are you ready for the circus?" Naturally we and a handful of other people start freaking the fuck out and proceed to run from the line back to our seats, even going in the wrong section at first. Except the show wasn't starting, just the circus acts that came before the show. And things were so unpredictable that we didn't go back to the long bar line. That, and we were like the seven seats into the row and didn't wanna walk over people again.

Um, what else. I got In N Out for the first time since November. It was glorious. Betty almost ran a red light while I Will Still Love You was playing lmfao.

OH. ALSO. THIS. Omfg, this was the hottest interlude thing of the show. It very well may be the hottest thing I've ever seen. To quote Betty, "when we saw that we were like two fourteen year old boys seeing our first boob" which is the best and only way to describe it lmfao.

I don't know what to say anymore. Best night ever. Thank you, Betty! AND THANK YOU, BRITNEY!
