Sandcastles

In response to this. Mette/Kevin is quickly climbing the OTP ranks.

“Good call on the beach, babe,” Mette said, spreading her beach towel on the warm sand. “It’s such a beautiful day out!”

Kevin set the cooler and his towel on the sand as well. “Yeah, I figured we needed to get of the house.”

The two stripped down to their bathing suits causing beachgoers everywhere to stare at their flawless bodies. Nothing the pair wasn’t used to. Mette applied protective lotion on her body and then on Kevin’s back, after which he returned the favor. Skin cancer has no mercy, remember that.

“What do you wanna do first?” he asked, jumping up to a standing position.

“Um. What do you mean?”

“We can play Frisbee, set up a volleyball court, swim, make a sandcastle-”

Mette reached her hand up to his and pulled him down so that he was sitting in front of her. “We’re relaxing today. We don’t need to do anything, really.”

“But we don’t know how long we’re gonna be here! We’re probably not gonna have time to do everything and-”

She rolled her eyes in response. “Kevin, you don’t need a schedule for everything.” Who was she kidding, of course he did.

“Yes, I do! You know I pride myself on my organization skills, among many other skills that I won’t mention right now.”

“Okay. How about we lie here for a little bit and then make a sandcastle afterward?”

Kevin nodded. “That sounds plausible.” He reached into a bag for a notebook and pencil. “I’ll work on the blueprints for our sandcastle!”

Mette opened her mouth to try to stop him, but she figured she lost that battle before it even began. She slipped her sunglasses on and rested under the sun while her darling love scribbled away next to her.
