Sisters of Mercy gig

Last night we went to go see S.O.M and was rather excited as I have not seen them before but also filled with a bit odf trepidation.I have heard such terrible conflicting accounts of SOM gigs that I went with out expectation.

So first things first was getting the drinks and finding a good vantage point in order to better spectate the proceedings of the evenings entertainment...and my my, a little surprise, like tadpole with brain damage, opning his eyes for the first under water in a muddy pool thinking he is drowning - SHOCK!!- was the The Ivories as the opening band...which I might say after nearly drowning on my beer was absolutely fantastic.Every single track was mind blowing.I really enjoyed their unfrotunately short set.

Then after some dwindling and enough time passed, but not nearly as much as when Bauhaus played, as I could have knitted a whole new green jersey with a lovely brown stripe down the middle in the time we stood waiting for Bauhaus to play, but a i digress, the lights dimmed and there was smoke...shit loads of smoke.Really really lots of a smoke! I even lit up a few cigarettes as I felt, in order to participate better I could add to the smoke effect.

The sounds was great, his vocals was a bit soft but the performance ..well the smoke was good.He was not dressed in a strange flower pattern hawaii shirt..actually all in black. Not one insult in regards to goths- at this point I might add - another reason for the high vantage point was so that my missiles - now not as technologically advanced as the USA's missiles, but they would, with a lot of luck and some attempt at aiming hit the target, should he have started bad mouthing us goths that paid good money to see him perform.

All in all i rather enjoyed the evening.
