New Skills and Party Planning

I should be using this sick day to Get Things Done. And up until I started this blog post, I was trying. With little success.

I had a full day planned. Well, honestly half a day. Because I really did intend to spend most of the day at home, to avoid the SONA and INC hullabaloo. But when I woke up with an awful sore throat and no voice to speak of, or with, I decided to cancel all plans of going out. I figured, there is plenty for me to accomplish at home. What with the many many projects I've found myself with.

Let's see, what am I working on right now? There's the semi-surprise baby shower. (Sorry, sis. No details here.) There's the decorating and furnishing the new house. Not to mention properly planning the move. There's the website that needs fixing, there's heaps and heaps of raw digital photos to go through, fiddle with, watermark and post. And another big bash birthday party to plan for later in the year. But needs to ba planned now as there are certain resources that will only be available for another month or so.

Aren't I glad I'm unemployed? I have no idea how I would accomplish all these things if I actually had a job.

And the fun thing is, I'm excited about all these projects! I can't wait to get started on all of them, I have no idea where to start! Well, I already have some steps and checklists for some of them, but every time I'm presented with a new project I get side tracked and want to work on the new thing and set the old things aside, even if they're more urgent. I really REALLY have to let go of FB and Twitter for a while and get closely bonded with my Simplicity again. I have come to the conclusion that organization is the key to productivity. Well, my stuff is all over the place. That's how productive I've been.

That being said, I'm really happy and proud of everything I was able to do this July. It really was Learn New Skills Month! I learned how to take photos with a DSLR. And I got to shoot models in and out of a studio. I learned about a program that will help me create and design websites. That's even potentially lucrative, expecially coupled with my new photography knowledge. And also, I found my latest happy place! An IKEA is just 15 mins away from my house! Can you believe it? Even my brother in the States doesn't have an Ikea in his city. I've been there like 4 times in one week. And all I bought were 6 drinking glasses! Obviously I just like being there. This of course, is bound to change once I have a new house to fill with stuff! Heeheehee!

So there. Na-pressure akong mag-update cause I learned Bembong came by for a visit. I put links to my blogs on my emails years ago, thinking it would get me more readers. It didn't seem to, not back then. But now suddenly it does. Even my webdesign teacher mentioned he's visited. So weird! When all my old readers just check on me through facebook now. Hay. What would I do without the internet.

Ok, that's it for now, back to doing birthday party theme research on the net. Or not. Hahaha!
