The Musical is Back!

Whee! The best Oscars in a long time. Or I should say, best Oscars opening number EVAR! Hahaha! There should be more singing and dancing at the Oscars from now on. Sadly, this means Jon Stewart probably won't get to host anymore, but if it's singing and dancing Wolverine, OKS LANG.

The winners didn't get me too excited though. The only movies I saw that got nominated were Wall E (very cute and deserving of credit, I think) and Benjamin Button (which I saw twice and still don't think Brad Pitt really acted at all). I haven't seen Slumdog Millionaire, and frankly, I'm not really enticed to go out and see it even if it got a lot of trophies. I just thought the presenters were funny and the numbers were fun, and it was interesting enough that I didn't want to change the channel or eat breakfast. Or lunch. That's something. In the past two years, I'd just move on to other channels or take long meals, or surf the web while "watching," or say I'll catch the primetime replay only to not.

Oh and I really loved the Japanese winners! They were sooo cute! "Sank you, evlyone. Sank you, Academy. Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto." Cuuuute! And that Penelope Cruz won for Vicky Cristina Barcelona made me want to watch the movie more. Date me, anyone?

I did wonder. What could have been going through Jennifer Aniston's mind as she was presenting on stage, that right in front of her in front seats were Brad and Angelina? I know it's been years, but... wala lang. I just wonder. And then later on I spotted her seated behind Meryl Streep and Amy Adams, and Jon Meyer was there beside her, so I guess she felt ok. Even if her joke with Jack Black fell flat.
