Okay! End of the month! Time to review whether I've fulfilled my
resolutions so far.
I am not joking, Simplicity is MAGIC. Ever since I got it, I have been feeling productive every single day. Except for the first two days after Mike gave me the iPhone. Really. It's Simplicity vs. iPhone and the prize is my life. iPhone is hard to resist what with
Topple calling me, whispering, play me! play me! beat your score! get to the next level! you haaave to... Actually, it's staring at me right now, iPhone. Daring me to keep writing about Simplicity. It thinks it owns me! Gaaah!
Ok, back to business. It is the end of the month, and I would like to record my accomplishments so that I will be inspired to keep being productive for the rest of the year. And I don't mean the normal garden variety errand running, supermarket, drugstore, bank roundup. I mean stuff I've been putting off for months type DONE!
FAMILY/HOME
- Started the house search. Doing it slowly. Seems our budget isn't set in stone just yet.
- Started Lia potty training. Doing my best. The rest is up to her.
- Started planning Desi's birthday. Guest list done, inspired with a theme. Started shopping for decor and theme stuff. Will reserve venue on Monday. (I called before but they said the earliest they can pencil in my reservation is Feb 2)
- Cleaned dresser, organized dresser drawer. (And it's STILL NEAT! If you've lived with me, you know this is a miracle.)
- Polished all my silver jewelry. (immensely satisfying)
- Cleaned mess under the TV.
- Organized my closet, got rid of old stuff. Put away stuff I might use again someday.
- Organized girls' closet. So. Many. Baby. Girls'. Clothes. At least they're neat now.
- Researched and finalized reservations for Holy Week plans.
- Had aircons cleaned.
BUSINESS
- Seen the facility.
- Attended one meeting. Hehe. That's it so far. Mike is doing the rest.
SELF
- Blog more. Check!
- Get organized. Thanks to Simplicity, check!
- Track expenditures, cash and charge. Check!
- Paint. Check!
- Share in CPPJ. Check!
- Go out with friends. Check check check! Once with Ninin, twice with Judy, once with Mike's friends (na hindi siya kasama! whut?!) and last night with Mike's friends na kasama siya, even if I was a last addition to the gimik, resolution to never say no to gimik invite just because tinatamad, check!
Yay! Of course there's stuff I wanted to get done in the past month that I didn't. I wanted to finish organizing my scrapbooking and gift wrapping stuff AND clean and organize our storage room but there's only so much you can do in four weeks. The days I was supposed to do these things, time was eaten up by backing up and organizing my phone contact list (which was not on my to do list, but still was a productive and useful thing to do which I have been meaning to do for months) and browsing the iTunes store for cool free apps. Oh, and trying to recover some corrupted digital photos. That was an epic fail. Boo.
That being said, I'm also proud that on top of all this productiveness, I was able to watch the Golden Globes, the SAG awards and some Australian Open here and there. I've been able to play and take care of Desi for at least two hours every day, usually more. With Lia it was at least 30 mins every day. I know I have to work on that, but Lola Cora enjoys her company so much, I've been lax in letting her play in Lola's house so that I can concentrate on polishing silver or organizing my clothes by color.
So. All in all, it's been a pretty good first month. Ok, February, bring it on!
