There's this verse in the Bible about how branches that don't bear fruit should be cut away. Or was it fig trees? Henihoo, I'm cutting away branches. I will delete my Friendster account before the month ends.
Also, I have a bunch of dangling earrings I no longer use. It's part of my "Nanay Ka Na Hindi Na Teenager" look. So, apart from two or three, I want to give them away, or sell them. Not that they're of much value. Any takers? Ia? Internet in general? You want earrings? They're yours.
Before Christmas, my mother-in-law mentioned she's sending stuff to Mindoro to be given away. So I raided my closet for clothes I no longer use. I got rid of all my mini skirts, some pants, and a LOT of shirts and blouses. Some I've been holding on for years cause I might work again. Or they might fit again. Yeah, right. Most of the clothes, maganda pa. Sorry Ia, you weren't here and they were sending the stuff that very day. Anyway, I put half my closet and 70% of my bags in a box with Mike's stuff that he's also giving away and told our Yayas they can pick what they want and then pass on the rest on to Lola Cora. Hello, nangalahati yung ipamimigay ko. Haha! Now, when they're not in uniform, my yayas are frequently dressed like the pre-Desi me. And they have nice bags. Wow. I have fashion followers.
So. Space in the closet, nothing to wear, I went to Rockwell last Thursday and HELLO. The perfect time to replenish a wardrobe. Kamiseta is EVERYTHING 50% OFF. Ang catch. No fitting. Gaddamit. I don't know my size anymore, I've been fluctuating over the years and haven't bought jeans for myself since I was pregnant and everything was getting too tight. Anyway, when I got home most of the stuff I bought are, well, let's just say, they have room for me to grow. Hehe. Jeez. Pero not bad pa rin kasi sale. At kasya naman. Maluwag lang konti. BAYO was all 50% off too but for some reason, the pickings were slim. Siguro naunahan na ako. The fun thing about these sales is they're getting rid of the really really small and the really really big. And guess what size I am? Still an XXS.
I was having so much fun I almost forgot I had to bring Desi to the doctor that afternoon. After BAYO I had to rush home to make the appointment. Thank God for that I didn't reach Zara where IF the sale is still on I might have bought myself children's clothes to match my daughters and of course there would be embarassing pictures and years from now Lia and Desi will delete the internet to hide all traces of their mother's craziness.
Oh yeah, and I bought a new mini skirt.
