2008 Recap
Time for the annual roundup! Here was 2007's. And now, while my room is begging to be cleaned, I instead indulge in an retrospection fest. I will regret this later on. But what the hey? It's the new year!
1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Hm. Give birth a second time? Ok, that's a cheating answer. Go to Macau, enter a casino, dine in a 360 degree rotating restaurant, ride a venetian gondola in an indoor canal. Also, not Christmas shop. Make desk calendars. Organize bastos games for a bridal shower.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Oh no... no no no. I ALMOST did the make up resolution, but towards the last quarter of the year, stopped putting on make up for anything less than a fancy party or a date with Ninin. Didn't do the house scrapbook but I did subscribe to Real Living Magazine. Didn't do the dream business cause I changed my mind on what I want to make. But I did moisturize. I still do. For 2009, I have many resolutions. But they will certainly be in another post.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Me! And Joy, and Nicnic, and Jennybel and Angelina Jolie...
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thank you, Jesus.
5. What countries did you visit?
One. Macau! That is to say, China. :-) But I also got to go to Puerto Galera, Subic, Baguio and Clark.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?

7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
March 28, 2008, Desi's grand entrance to Earth thank you very much!
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Hm. I was going to say, this isn't a year for achievements. But come to think of it, a healthy, happy, exclusively breastfed nine-month-old baby is quite an achievement, thank you very much.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not creating the things I told myself I would create in the past year.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No, thank you, Jesus. The gastritis came in 2009 already. I had to recover from a C-section but that wasn't so difficult.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Big, tight underwear that comes up to my ribs that keeps my bulges in check when wearing slinky dresses.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Mike for his diaper duties, Lia for being a non-jealous Ate and Desi for being so adorable!
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Abu Sayaff. De Venecia. GMA. FG.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Aside from the usual, groceries, baby stuff, travel... giving birth.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Giving birth! And Macau. And Baguio. And Barrack Obama being the POTUS.
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Hm. nothing comes to mind.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? happier
ii. thinner or fatter? ah. tricky! I'm smaller because I'm not pregnant anymore. But I think I'm fatter than before my last pregnancy. I already gave away all my mini skirts cause I couldn't fit into any of them anymore.
iii. richer or poorer? richer
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Created more stuff. Saw old friends.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Watch TV.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
We spent Christmas the usual way. Christmas Eve, dinner and mass with the Juans, Noche Buena with the Lapids, Christmas Day with the Mantarings.
22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
Oh yes! Over and over again, every time I see Desi smile. :)
23. How many one-night stands?

Who got together and who broke up?
Angie and Jan got married! Jerry and Ninin got together! Shiva and Dave broke up and got together and broke up again and got together again! Oh, and Rey and Camille are engaged! Ay. Madonna ang Guy Richie broke up.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Aside from all the usual, Oprah, Martha Stewart, House, The Daily Show, etc. My newest favorite is: Party Planner with David Tutera! I love him!
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate anyone.
26. What was the best book you read?
Oh oh oh! Of last year? It has to be the Kate and Cecilia series. Sorcery and Cecilia or the Enchanted Chocolate Pot, The Grand Tour, and The Mislaid Magician or Ten Years After. Favorite! I know pambata sila, but I'm sorry, it's all my breastmilk-logged brain can process right now.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Happy Monster Band. Hahaha!
28. What did you want and got?
A wonderful wonderful happy healthy smart baby. :)
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Hmm. Nothing stands out. It's not Mamma Mia. Maybe Tropic Thunder. Hehe.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 29. We took the kids to High Street then we had dinner in Katipunan with the Australian Lapids.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If I actually made a shirt. Or a book.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Naku. I wish. There is no concept. There is just, "Nanay ka na, hindi na teenager" so I turned to collared shirts (lacoste knock offs), jeans and ballet flats. :(
34. What kept you sane?
Mike. Internet. Discovery Travel and Living.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Hillary Clinton. And then Barrack Obama.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The US Elections. My friend's kidnapping.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
You can be a friend even if you don't see each other, or talk, just by letting the person know that you're there for them. AND Brush your teeth and floss after every meal.
