Bye bye Inaboobs!

Sigh... Lia is finally asleep. Again! :) Mike is out of town for work for more than a day for the first time since before Christmas. Which means I miss him, but which also means there is more space in the bed for Lia and me. Right now Lia has the whole bed cause I'm updating. Wow, I haven't updated in over a week.

And that's because the last week has been very productive. I did most of my painting homework (I had loads of homework cause I missed two Saturdays), ran several errands (bills, gifts, etc.) and made significant progress in preparing for Lia's birthday. Did I mention? Since I couldn't find all the flipflop stuff I wanted out there to buy, I'm making them myself! Bwahahaha! FUN! Lia's giveaways are going to be so personalized, I'm glad I didn't find flipflop shaped loot bags. Anybody throwing a kiddie party soon? Want personalized stuff? Hire me! I love doing this. Seriously.

What else did I do? Oh I had dinner with Mike and his staff at this restaurant called Zamboanga on Adriatico St. We checked it out to see if their "cultural show" is good enough to bring foreign guests to. Is it ever?! They had this dance troupe do show which was a general overview of folk dances in the Philippines. Pretty representative. Not half bad. Quite good, actually. And then their last dances were Polynesian/Tahitian hula-skirted dances. Not Pinoy, but at that point, we didn't care. Because they got a bunch of drunk Japanese tourist lolos come up and shake their booty wearing hula skirts and no shirts on. HI LA RIOUS. It was a little disturbing to note that each of the Japanese old dudes in what appeared to be a tour group seemed to be paired with a young Filipina. Hm. Many thoughts on this. Next time. However there was another Japanese group that had no chicks with them. And a couple of other tables with foreign guests. Parang our table was the only all-Pinoy one. But they'll be bringing their guests there in a couple of weeks. I said they'd better make sure to order wine early so that their guests will be drunk by the time the hula dancing starts. Fun!

Since December, I've gradually eased off breastfeeding. It was actually unintentional. Like a natural weaning I guess. I now only nurse at night. When Lia whimpers in the middle of the night, half asleep signing for "dede". Mostly because it's easier to just raise my shirt than to get up and make her a bottle of milk. Especially when she won't take fake nipples at night. Plus it's the fastest way to stop her crying so that her Daddy's sleep doesn't have to be disturbed. He hardly gets any rest as it is. Thus the decrease in breastfeeding has lead to the decrease in bust size. So long B cup. It was fun while it lasted. I am now back to pre-pregnancy boobs. Except for the bigger nipples. I don't know when that will subside or if they ever will.

What I haven't determined is whether they're smaller than how they were pre-pregnancy. My old bras seem to fit exactly the same. Even one bra I bought when I was already pregnant and just thought my boobs were growing on their own still fits me quite well. But those were expensive, so THEY BETTER FIT. Ah, Marks and Spencers. You are special. Anyway, they now sit like two lonely little lumps at the bottom of my nursing bras. They're so loose they're useless. So I've given up those as well. There's a big hooray for smaller boobs. Sleeping bra-less! Yey! For the first time in nearly a year, I get to sleep without a bra on. I had to wear a bra to sleep the whole time Lia survived on my milk because if I didn't, I'd wake up in a puddle of my own milk. But I leak no longer. Yahoo! I even thought I don't have any milk anymore and Lia just sucks on me for fun (that's how small they are now) but I can hear her swallow, and once, when she let go really fast, I saw one milk drop. There it is. I'm still a cow. Albeit a really skinny one with no boobs.

Another effect of not nursing is I got my period again. I thought I would reach the 2 month mark without having it. If I did, I'd have to whip out the pregnancy test again. But this last cycle lasted 50 days. It should even out as this weaning continues. I'm just waiting for Lia to give up waking in the middle of the night, or me running out of milk. Which ever comes first. I said I would make her sleep in her own room when she turns one. That's in less than a week. I still don't know if I'm actually going to do that already. Will I be able to sleep without a tiny person headbutting me all night? Will I be able to stand not being the first person she sees when she wakes up in the morning? Will Yaya Jenny get any work done at all if she has to be the one to sleep in Lia's room with her? Ah, the riveting questions of my life. I am at the edge of my seat in anticipation.

There it is. My busy week. Oh! I nearly forgot to commemorate the advance Valentines date I had with my husband. We watched The Holiday. A chick flick. And it wasn't even a punishment for anything Mike did or didn't do! Some magical tickets appeared last Tuesday and we decided to make a date of it. Oh Jude Jude Law. Crying Jude Law. Witty British Jude Law. *sigh* And it wasn't a total nightmare for Mike because Jack Black was funny. So adorable. But mostly he kept it real. Kate and Cameron were really good too. I liked the movie. A bit on the fairy-tale-could-never-happen-in-real-life side. But that's the definition of a chick flick so there.

Long enough. More than made up for a lack of substantial posts lately. More when Lia is done turning 1. ;)
