i hate the bleeding part as well. i hated getting my period, what more bleeding for a month straight. with my first, i don't remember wanting to move around as much. no one told me either that i'll be bleeding for a month. but for both my kids, i didn't have stitches. so it was one less pain to deal with. but with maddie, i was walking the same day i gave birth and i didn't bleed as much after. i bled heavy for 3-4 days, then it was light for 3 weeks maybe?
i totally understand the jeans thing and the breast thing. i had to buy new jeans as well. but don't worry...breastfeeding makes you lose weight fast since it burns calories. Ü i'm hoping to wear my old jeans by the time maddie's one. hahahaha. i also use breast pads. but they don't drip as much anymore. just hang in there...it'll get better. Ü
Actually, I've noticed I don't bleed at night (my periods are like that too, they seem to turn off automatically at night) so I can sleep without a pad. By sleep, you know what I mean, a couple of hours at a time, in between feedings. ;)
Wah! I want to shop for new clothes na. Hm, you don't live in the Philippines, do you? I wonder where I can buy nursing clothes around here...
i used to live there. Ü when we went back for christmas, i was planning to buy some nursing shirts too cause it's kinda pricey here. the nursing tank top i bought was $15 or something? i totally forgot to look around there for some. if you know anyone who can make you nursing shirts, here's a link: http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/shirt_print.html
Hi Char! I went shopping the other day and found nursing shirts. They were P600-P700, so that's... $12-$14? Not bad huh? When I searched the internet, I saw some shirts were up to $45. But there were really few designs and sizes, a lot of the designs were kinda dowdy. And they didn't have any dresses, only tops. Thanks though!
you'd be missing out, believe me. i mean, i'm complaining, but at the same time, i'm really proud of myself. PLUS I get to say, "After I bore you in my womb for 9 months..."
Hahaha!
Pero doing it the Angelina Jolie way is not bad either. ;) There's lots of babies who need mommies out there.
Hi! Interesting blog, especially since I can relate! At least you're not having a problem breastfeeding! My little one's so impatient (just like me) that feeding time is a struggle! :I
Good luck to both of us. We have the opposite problem. Sometimes she sleeps through feeding time and my breasts are so painfully bursting with milk. I have to pump milk just to relieve the pain and then that milk just gets thrown away.
Hey Ina. You say it so yourself. You love your baby and adore motherhood, but you don't have to like everything about it. Ergo, it's perfectly fine to complain! Don't you let yourself think for even a minute that telling things as they are makes you love Lia any less or makes you a bad mom. That's quite all right. :)
Hang in there, dear. You'll never be back to your old self ever again (like your waist might never be 24 again, but maybe 25 or something!), but you'll surely end up being someone better, physically, emotionally, spiritually. Just hang in there. :) And don't be afraid to complain!
The past few weeks my daughter wakes up in the middle of the night, cries her heart out, demands for milk, water, "watch TV", or what have you, and doesn't go back to sleep until the early rays of dawn light up the sky. By then she goes back to sleep and I need to get ready for work. At times I catch myself thinking, "uupakan ko na ito if she doesn't let me get some sleep!" Natural reaction of mommies to anything the kids do.
Sabi nga ni Earnest Z., my office mate, enjoy your kids while their still babies kasi pagdating ng 1-2 years, it gets harder and tougher on the Nanay, nerves.
