aya_3003 and
dragon_soda visited me yesterday and we had a lot of fun. And it will certainly happen again. Maybe we will be even watching something together. :D
But we also tried making
takoyaki and we were fairly successful.
Last time I was in D-dorf OCS had takoyaki maker for the micro wave. Which in typically Japanese fashion they only wanted to sell to people who understand enough Japanese to read the instructions because otherwise it would be too dangerous. Of course the instruction were not more that fill up to three quarters and heat up at 600 watt for 4 minutes. *headdesk*
But back to the actually making. I had bought a flour mix (add water and an egg) and we first tried the microwave maker. Fill in dough, pieces of octopus, green onions, and
Beni Shoga. of copurse the microwave didn't make them brown, but they were the right size, though not really round.
Next was trying the pan, which is actually not a takoyaki pan but a "
Augen- oder
Pförtchepfanne" (
Æbleskiver on the English language version). I had never heard of these cakes.
Much better results. Getting them to be round takes a bit of practice. The pan really needs to be filled up to the brim and then you start getting the dough into the holes.
Only con is that they are a bit too big, but getting this pan is the easiest and cheapest way for making takoyaki at home in a 220 V country. :)
