Beauty Sleeping (John/Atlantis, PG-13)

Many, many thanks to my betas, aithine and kitestringer who helped to fix all the annoying big and little mistakes with this.

Beauty Sleeping

John/Atlantis, from "Rising" to "Hide and Seek"

The city is peopled/
with spirits, not ghosts, O my love:/
Though they crowded between/
and usurped the kiss of my mouth/
their breath was your gift,/
their beauty, your life.

Fascinating. I love the city's incorporation of the fairytales she learnt from the minds of the expedition members. It gave the city an almost creepy feel, so strange and alien and yet... acting human in some capacity.

Wow, that was beautiful and eerie. Poor misunderstood Atlantis, no one see her as sentient or understands how she feels. I really feel sorry for her.

I love sentient!Atlantis and Atlantis/John fics ^.^ This was a beautiful representation of Atlantis and what it could have thought/felt at the beginning of the series. I love it's reaction to John, how it fell so instantly in love, and I love it's reaction to the self destruct...poor Atlantis.

Wow, that was beautiful. Like poetry, really; everything Atlantis is, and now you've given her a voice.

Bravo. :)

Creepy. And as always, you create some haunting images with words.
