To do tonight: Massive huge cleaning of room because the landlord's coming on Tuesday to sign the new leasers. Also, take-home portion of art history exam (short essays).
But I don't waaaaaaaant to. I am le tired. (Please, no jokes about naps and missiles. I don't have time for a nap.)
So, this week was all sorts of stressful for a variety of reasons.
But it ended in awesome.
Friday night, I went to see 300 with
misterdark. It was graphic, gory, stylized, and ridiculously AWESOME.
Yesterday, a large group of awesome geekery, including myself, went to
5wits's TOMB. More awesome. Included were:
kamianya,
lightgamer,
zapf,
witticaster,
phoenix_rinna,
memoria_teneo, and lots of non-lj people who don't read this anyway (except for you, Jared. Why don't you just make an LJ account so you can read my locked entries?), or people who are probably on Livejournal, but whose usernames I don't know. I don't feel like listing everyone else.
While at TOMB, I bought a hat. I don't really buy hats. Because normally, I look devastatingly STRANGE in hats. But popular opinion was a resounding "It looks good!" And I didn't have a mirror to tell me otherwise. Yay impulse buys! So, expect to see to see a behatted me sometime in the future. Y'know, if you're one of those people who will actually see me sometime in the future.
Last night was the true culmination of the weekend. My major stress point of the week was organizing a surprise going-away party for
zapf. He's leaving for Japan in just over a week, and we wanted him to know how much we luuuuurv him. If I forgot to invite someone, I'm sorry, my brain's been a little overclocked this week. I've never planned a party before. Ever.
Last night he was ambushed in Ziv Commons and subjected to a looooong night of Guitar Hero, Karaoke Revolution, massive amounts of food and friends, Betrayal, and general happiness. And none of it would have happened even a little bit without the major help and contribution of the guests. Thanks guys. Seriously. I did the point- type-click stuff, but you did all the actual work.
Today was rehearsal, I was all sorts of discombobulated for. I didn't get to bed until at least 4am, and then my post-party brain just could not settle. So I was running all sorts of majorly late this morning. And, in my morning-til-night busy-ness Saturday, I missed the email that said, "bring costumes," so I missed the costume parade. I am big dope.
Oh, but Serious Business (TM) time.
Today was housing selection. This was the first year I actually had to show up and do the whole thing, which is weird, as it's the last year I'll have to do so.
Alassiel and Igot a 2-bedroom in 164, B Tower, on the floor above the ground floor. We're in the same stairwell as the laundry room, which is AWESOME. I will never have to leave the building to do laundry AGAIN (while at Brandeis, anyway). Also, I think
kamianya might be right across the hall from me, which would be pretty darned neat.
Also, being close to the ground means I can probably bring my bed, which is great, because I really don't want to sell it. I really like having a grown-up bed for the first time in my life. And it's really comfy. I want to keep it. So yay for that!
My heartfelt condolences to anyone who didn't get housing. If you had an unfortunate number and are looking to live off-campus, I know a few people in the same boat. You should all go live in those apartments right behind Grad so we can hang out all the time. Or, stick it out on the waitlist. Like I said, Sara Tess and I had terrible numbers, and got to live together near our other friends who were also on the waitlist. So, sometimes you get lucky.
Ummm I still have short essays to write for my art history class. I really don't like writing ANYTHING for my art history class. It makes me all antsy.
Oh no. I also think I have another anime paper due this week. ::Whimper:: Last time I pulled an all-nighter. This time I absolutely cannot. ::more whimpering.:: Bollocks. G'night all.
