[Darn your sinister attraction, lactose]

I was supposed to work tonight. Instead, because my stomach decided to try out for the Olympic triathlon, I decided it would be best if I remained at home.

My mom said that stomach aches take about 24hrs or so to manifest. So I conclude it had to have been something I ate for dinner last night. At my friends' house, I had spaghetti and meatballs in a homemade alfredo sauce, with butter sauteed zucchini and homemade beer bread. For dessert, I had a pumpkin chocolate chip cookie with a side of vanilla bean ice cream. That and several glasses of cinnamon iced tea.

I know I have a lactose intolerance, but that mainly goes for milk and some cream products. It could very well have been the cream of the alfredo sauce, plus the butter and the ice cream that did me in. Also, this morning, I put a little more creamer than normal in my coffee.

Any one of those could've been the cause.

Anyway, because of whatever it was, I've had a rumbling stomach, frequent needs to burp that have an acrid taste to them. This is to say nothing of the horrors coming out the back end.

Ugh... though I'm by no means incapacitated by it, I'd rather not have had to have others put up with that. When I called Target to say I wouldn't be coming in, the lady asked why, as I sounded perfectly normal. She then laughed when I told her I was really gassy.

Hopefully it'll all clear up by tomorrow. I'm gonna have to take my coffee black, just to be safe.

Lastly, for no reason in particular, I've had this song in my head all night. It's the Buffy/Angel leitmotif "Close Your Eyes." Very beautiful.
