The rhythm of my life

I really wrestled with the idea of going to work earlier/last night. It's not that I didn't wanna go (okay, so maybe I kinda didn't), it's just that there was a couple of better counter-offers. One of which was margaritas with Miranda and Fox Xander. The other; sleep.

I was up at 8:30 on Friday morning. Which, by my recent standard, is incredibly early. I even had a semi-productive day. I cashed in my pitiful 401(k) (I lost "forfeited" over half by taking a distribution) and bought a few things at Target.

Later on, I helped my brother do his laundry at the old laundrette I used to frequent, while he went and got a haircut in preparation for a date.

After that, I tried to rest up for my shift later on, but sleep wasn't to be mine longer than an hour.

So, I very nearly called in to work (even Xander was being the devil on my shoulder)... the thought of getting some much needed sleep and/or intoxication was hella appealing. But, I manned up and decided to go to work after all.

It was really a good night there. Because I normally bend over to lift the heavy boxes, my back has been aching as of late, so tonight I made a concerted effort to do the "lift with your legs" bit. I also squatted down more to open the boxes on the floor instead of bending over or propping them up on my cart. Given also that there was entirely too much merchandise on the floor-level shelf, I was on my haunches A LOT.

It ached.

But I realized that if I keep that up, I'll have fabulous leg, thigh and butt muscles. I love that my job is a full body workout!

Now, for some gorgeous sleep and a 3-day weekend :)

PS: Oh, and what did I notice on my forearm just an inch down from that scratch I just discovered? A bruise. Man, I damage easily.

xander, miranda, target, fox, work, corona
