Okay... I am not a happy camper here at my damned job.
I put up with having calls routed to me out of turn in the queue. I deal with obnoxious callers, coworkers and now, my team supervisor (or "Coach" as they liked to be called here).
From day one, my coach hasn't been the best guy. I remember asking him for help and having him basically tell me to seek help elsewhere (what kind of leader doesn't know how to do his own agents' job?). I've asked him several questions not directly pertaining to doing my job, and even then he's shunted me to look for the information myself. He's pretty insensitive, which up until now I've come to accept and learn to deal with.
Today, however, he's pushed me to the edge. We had a team meeting--which in itself was one of those very masturbatory things where all we do is review basic, stupid company guidelines. Anyway, I was sending a customer a detailed email and as such was running late for the meeting. As it turns out, I forgot where the meeting was. I checked his Agenda posted outside his cube, which said the meeting was in one place when it was indeed in another. Long story, I spent the better part of 20 minutes wandering around the building in vain, as this stupid meeting room was nowhere to be found. Upon returning to my desk, I sent an email to my coach apologizing for missing the meeting. He replied back with saying that I should've asked or read some attached file included in an email he sent. Essentially, this is my fault. Some fucking coach.
Honestly, every call center job has been a remix of the Office Space syndrome: be it insipid other employees, being at the mercy of bureaucratic company nonsense or superiors that you can't help but get the urge to punch their faces in. It surprises me that I haven't built up an immunity for this sort of BS.
Maybe it's a good thing--not settling. I just gotta make sure I find a job that isn't a farking call center.
The crux is that I'm not gonna make more money elsewhere without a damned degree in something.
Obviously, the punishment meted out for the un-higher educated is having to suffer drudgery such as this in the hopes that it'll either break one's spirit or push them into going back to school.
