So, I just got off the network with someone in the know, and it turns out our pal Lyesmith's been keeping info from us, and since he's put all of us at risk, you all should be in the know about what's going on.
Turns out, his buddies, the guy that built the thing? They're with a group called Denouement. Real nasty piece of work, and responsible for a lotta grief over the past couple years. Assassinations, kidnapping, gunrunning, bombing - if any of you folk got hit by the Lunasa bombs a few years back, well, you've got them to thank for it. Near as either of us can tell, they're trying to play Ivona and Vohemar against each other and make a killing by selling weapons to both. Which is where our little metal friend - and our contact - come in.
The guy I was talking to was the captain of the Convoy, where one of our old mechanics is setting up shop. Turns out our cargo's been ripped off one of their trinkets, only sized up and made much, much more dangerous. And that's not all they're working on. They've been kidnapping some magically inclined folk, and have been holding them near the fault lines ...including a choice spot near the Nihl. And here's what we're gonna do about all that.
First, we'll be making an emergency landing 'fore we head to the river, though I want the engines left on. While we're hovering 'bove ground, there's two things I want to take care of: I want the folks with mechanical know how to strip those parts in cargo and see what we can use for our own purposes, and soon as we make sure nothing is gonna blow up on us, I want those parts trashed. If anybody asks, somebody got the sneak on us. Considering how some of you - you all know who you are - got the sneak on other ships in the past, we should be able to come up with something good.
Second, I want our pilots and anyone else who can fly a plane to check out Nihl. I don't like the sound of what they're planning, and I don't like the idea of any more surprises. I want you to fly close as you can, sneak by them, and try and find out as much as you can. Soon as you find something good, report back to us. Don't hit them head on if you have to, but if things go downhill, you've got permission to act any way you see fit. Just be smart about it. On that note, feel free to take anyone who you think'll be handy along with you, if your planes' got room for 'em.
Third, I figure it's time we have another chat with Mr. Low Key. Anyone who wants in on this and isn't smashing parts or scouting out the river, meet me in the engine room. Though, I'll need someone with impressive upper body strength to help me drag his hide to our little meeting.
Fourth, if any of you have info on something, anything this group could be tied to, you tell me or the first mate immediately. The more we know, the better.
Now... I'm no hero, and nobody else here is either. But one thing's clear: if we let them go through with this, something real nasty is gonna go down, something I don't want to be responsible for. 'Sides, they need to learn what happens when you mess with the wrong ship.
[OOC: All right folks, Serenity's moving on. We'll have an OOC post for organization on the different activities tomorrow, including hostage rescue, Low Key interrogation, and snooping on Denouement]
