Not at all lazy

I'm so happy that the holidays are over.  Now I can get back to work, and into my normal routine.

Wait, that's exactly the thing I don't need.  Getting back into the routine is coasting, and I've done too much of it last year.

The party was a success, although the energy was very different from last year.  It was fairly muted, and most of the guests didn't appear until after 11pm. After the prefunctory ritual was performed at midnight, we all started to get cozy, and be silly with one another.  I have to say that even with the awkward start to the evening, we know how to relax and have fun.

Lessons learned:
  • Don't buy so much.  I overspent for the occasion again, hundreds of dollars worth of food and drink Although the alcohol tab wasn't for my guests, but for myself...I bought a really expensive bottle of scotch.
  • When you think about making the event and sending the invites...commit.  I held off annoucing the party until Sunday, just after anguissette cancelled her plans.  This was a factor in many reliable friends not coming this year.
Got up very late, and cleaned up.  I've been puttering with the internet all day.  A good lazy day.
