You know, I've been thinking.

I could go for a happy story right about now. Any of you folks know any tales with a happy ending that you might be willing to share around the campfire? Or maybe just with an old cowpoke? Might liven this place up some to hear something upbeat for a change.

Campfire stories, mate? I'm not sure I have any of those, but I might have a tale or two to tell.

Lets see, you wanted a happy ending, right?

So, to start it all, we have it as a boy meets girl. See the lad is a bit of a treasure hunter. World renown that everyone wants him to go after some hidden artifact or what not. Girl tracks him down to film him on her show talking about archeology.

Well of course they get attacked by pirates and fend for themselves. Eventually, boy ends up ditching girl to find the city of gold. They end up meeting again because she manages to track him down. Together they run off to solve the mystery of El Dorado as they discovered that the Spanish found the place in the 16th century and took the golden idol that was mistaken for the city itself.

Don't think I'd heard that one before.

Thanks for it, Bambina.

Well, it gets better with that note, mate.

They find the golden idol, but some it's cursed. Turns people into the undead - it's the reason why they idol never left the port they brought it to. So, not only does the boy and the girl no longer have the prize they need, they have to escape with their life.

Which requires having to stop one of the pirates they run into from taking the idol off the island.

Some how, I don't remember all the details about this, they sink the idol into the bottom of the ocean, and get away unscathed despite the girl being shot down from a helicopter. Guess the bad guys got her and used her as leverage to keep the boy from going after them.

But I've never known the boy to be anything but stubborn and a little bit of a hero.

So, he saves the day, gets the girl, and an old friend of his manages to come by with some gold so they don't get away entirely empty handed.
