I haven’t eaten or slept in 3 days, it feels good. Well not really. But the Ontario student leadership conference was good. You know when your life is so hectic and busy and you just need to step back and put things in perspective, this did that for me. And I needed it.
I found it funny, and it just kind of hit me when I was there, that that was a conference for people who want to be leaders. There was about 500 kids there. Maybe a little over that. It was quite entertaining because you’re in the big room with over 500 kids, none of whom are afraid to do or say anything because they want to be leaders, so essentially you have this big group of kids competing for the most attention they can get. It was also werid cause everyone was so nice and friendly. It was just different then what you were used to. It was nice. Nobody cared that we were all complete strangers we were all there for the same reason.
I really enjoyed it cause everyone who was there wanted to be there. There was no negativity. It was like a two night dance party. Everyone was dancing. Even if you hated the music (which most of it I did) I didn’t care because it was just fun to let go. It was packed. There were so many people dancing people were crowd surfing. I never actually thought that I would see people crowd surfing to hip hop music and what not. The dance floor can be summed up in three words “sex on wheels”. Don’t worry about it.
There were some really cool speakers to, all funny, they all had a meaning. Most of them very impactful. You might think i'm weird or stupid for enjoying this type of thing. But if you want a reality check or need just a spit of motivation I suggest trying to go to this next year. They had some really good messages in there speeches. I wont summerize what they said, but I do wish more people could have heard all the speeches.
I have pictures but I just need to get them developed first and then ill post them, I hope they came out good. But now I have to start and finish a history presentation. And do all the other stuff I have missed out on the last couple days. These two days were the first two days I have had off school all year, and I’m freakin out about it. Oh well
