I was picking up on slashy stuff, too, and the fact that they're going to Paris together- "in a van??"- just begs to be read into. ;)

Yay for Mickey being the hero and yay for him staying behind even if it was very sad.

LOVED the revelation that Ricky was the "most wanted man in London" ...for unpaid parking tickets. LOL! Guess Ricky isn't so different after all.

The cyberchair was ridiculous. If I was Lumic I would be pissed as hell. "I didn't get an ultimate upgrade just to be confined to a damn wheelchair again!"

The copy I watched was a bit jumpy, and for a while I was getting the "audio commentary for the blind" version, which kinda ruined the whole escape/explosion sequence.

I wonder if Jake will show up in "our" universe. Or maybe he can be spun off to Torchwood, instead. LOVE his hair. I'm a sucker for spikey hair.

The TARDIS stuff was terrible, and you're right about the lameness of the cliffhanger resolution. And I still want to know WTF happened to the timestream or whatever it was. It CEASED TO EXIST. That has to mean something, doesn't it?

And if travel between parallel worlds is so impossible, how was the Doctor planning to get back into our universe? Or is that one of those conveniently automatic things and the TARDIS gets bumped back to where it belongs as soon as it slips back into the NON-EXISTENT timestream? *grumble*

All in all, though, I liked the ep. And I liked that they didn't save Jackie. They don't always win.

I also think Rose pushed it too far when she called Pete "Dad". He'd already figured it out from her unsubtle hints and you could see his shock/dismay/discomfort. To hammer the point home was a bit cruel of her. But that's Rose, always selfish.

As for the clique-y thing, you're absolutely right. But it only seemed to come into play whenever Mickey was around. All it did was emphasize the point that "you're not one of us" and I think it was a bit mean. Re-watching Boom Town, when it's the Doctor, Rose and Jack, the THREE of them do it to Mickey. Mean, mean, mean.

Hopefully Mickey's in a world where HE'LL be part of the clique and he won't have to stand by watching people celebrate without him.

The funniest thing is, I never really liked the Mickey character, but he's really grown on me in the past few eps and now that he's gone, I'm gonna miss him. I hope he and Jake live happily ever after. ;)
