My Mum - in touch with her inner fangirl

Apr 10, 2006 00:14

When I was pwning AOL playing technical support for Mum this morning (Note "Victory is mine" icon: Who's l33t? I'm l33t), we were talking about sleep and dreams:

Me: I had a dream last night that Tony DiNozzo from NCIS was the Tory leader. I was walking up the High Street and it was on the news. He was in a suit and had a briefcase. It was all very bizarre.
Tory-hating Mum: I'd vote for him.

Recap of Doctor Who "The Christmas Invasion", in the style of Movies In 15 Minutes.

Containing this about Torchwood:
Harriet Jones: Major, activate Operation Spin-Off.
Major Blake: Sorry, Prime Minister, it isn't launching for months. Barrowman's still in musical-theatre mode.
Harriet Jones: All right, activate Operation Relentless "Torchwood" Digressions and keep it going till he's ready.

What is slash? Read this one just for the "guess the fandom" section. It amuses me. The rest of the thing is a very good read too.

A Mary Sue Field Guide

Favourite quote from that:
Keep in mind that, for the most part, the canon boys and girls of fandom are a taciturn, suspicious, cautious bunch. They don't spill their life stories to strangers (unless they're Lana), they don't fall in love within three seconds of meeting someone (unless they're Kirk), and they really don't appreciate complete strangers coming up to them and saying, "I know your secret" (unless they're Mulder, but he's an exception to all kinds of rules).
