"Welcome!"

Raziel lifted her arms and smiled brightly as a gesture of openness to the assembled souls and ethereal beings seated in uncomfortable plastic chairs. She surveyed the group, emanating so much brightness that it almost hurt to look directly at her. Her teeth were vaguely reminiscent of mirrors set in the sun.

"Welcome to our first group therapy session. The purpose of gathering you here is to give you all a chance to talk and, ideally, to get you talking to each other," she said. Undoubtedly this made the gathering sound like an ice cream social, but the more the patients would talk to each other, she reckoned, the more they might talk to her.

"We're going to begin this week by sharing our stories. Who are you and how did you die? Why did you die? What were the circumstances? We'll go around in a circle."
