beyond capitalist city coruscations
the night is still very alive
on an Indian Reservation
in South Dakota.
stars scintillate as
spirits steer the wind
tracing their fingers through hair
brushing against shoulders
blowing out matches
and chilling fingers.
copasetic cigarettes
swallow the cold
and create a porch of refuge.
warm voices are heard discussing
politics, religions,
sex, drugs,
the past and the future.
trying once again to
question the world
into changing.
