Edit: they have my wallet at leeds! I shall get it tomorra! Hurrah!
i lost my wallet yesterday. i did not realize this until about noon today. i can't find it anywhere in my room, and i think i must have left it on the train (or dropped it at one of the three stations i was at). the train company said i should call them tomorrow to see if they'd found it; i somehow doubt they will have. my bank and credit cards were in there, as well as my driver's lisence and national insurance card and kaiser card and social security card and oh my god i've just come to realize fully how much this sucks.
yes, drinking was being done yesterday. in york! yay for york. other than the wallet thing, i had a really class time. i went with my friends dan and chris, and after some shopping we basically went on a mini-tour/pub crawl. i saw my old house, and the place where i bashed my head on the wall, and we considered nicheing but none of us had the right shoes on for it. the crawl started at my favorite pub ever (the ahcorne) and finished (shockingly) at the evil eye. we were going to go down to a place right on the river, but seeing as the river has flooded, the pub has about a metre of water in it. the staircase down to the staith actually just went into the river... i wish i'd brought my camera, it was kinda freaky.
i also saw two people who i really liked when i lived in york: guy and ben! guy was working at the evil eye, and is kinda the same as always (i've never really hung out with him, but he was always constantly working somewhere i was going, like the evil eye or oddbins or cafes or whatever). and ben! ben is this fantastick guy who was running the dig i worked at when i first went to york, and now the archaeological trust (the same one i used to work for) has promoted him, and he's in charge of this huge huge dig going on. he came into the black swan (another of my favorite pubs) with a bunch of other people, who were in another room, and he gave me this huge hug and kiss sat down and chatted with me for like 20 minutes. he's the drummer who explained how that one queens of the stone age song is structured. that was after one of the trust barbeques, and it was like the second to last time i saw him... he said he emailed me on my trust email, but seeing as how my boss never told me i had a trust email, i obviously didn't write him back, which is sad. cos i really liked him and i'd have liked to have stayed in touch all these years. but hurrah, now he has my real email! aaaaaaaaand his card that he gave me was in my wallet. fuck. *sigh* but oh my god, it just like made my whole day to see him, and it's so crazy that i did, cos if the boys weren't with me i'd not have been out in the pubs, and it was just my hyperactivity that made me choose to go to that one then, because it's a little out of the way, and not really in city centre at all, and and and. i really like ben, he's so cool. eeeee! i'm going to be excited about seeing him for like at least a week. callou callay! (as i was saying constantly afterwards last night)
i think i'm going to start reading the book i just got, "the master and margarita" which i saw a statue about at sharmanka.
