The Prince and the Pea by Kim JaeJoong
I've flown a million miles just to find a magic seed
A white flower with the power to bring life to me
You're so exotic, my whole body fluttering
Constantly craving for a taste of your sticky sweet
Hummingbird Heartbeat;
Rustle.
Rustle.
Rustle.
"Stop doing that" JaeJoong mumbles incoherently, muscles overcame with fatigue hours ago.
"Doing what?" The younger replies monotonously, indifferent.
Rustle.
"Go to sleep." JaeJoong shifts, turning to face ChangMin, wrapping an arm around his waist and burying his face in the younger's neck.
ChangMin did finally stop moving when JaeJoong's arms wound around his waist, but going to sleep isn't really a viable option. His eyes just won't shut and he feels too.....not sleepy.
"Hyung." ChangMin whispers in case Jae's fallen to sleep. His hand caressing his hair.
"Hm?" The elder hums against his neck.
"I can't sleep" JaeJoong readjusted his position, lying his head atop ChangMin's upper arm instead.
"Then try. And if that doesn't work, try some more." Jae pecks his cheek, nuzzling back unto ChangMin's neck.
Half an hour later and ChangMin is still awake, this time JaeJoong is too. Who could sleep with a boyfriend who constantly fidgets like an overheated worm anyway?
"How?" ChangMin pouts, a rare sight yet JaeJoong doesn't think much of it, he's more focused as to how to get the youngest to sleep. Without killing him by overdose of medications. Or hurting him.
"Come here." JaeJoong got into a sitting position, leaning against the headboard with his arms open, waiting for ChangMin.
The younger looks at him for a moment before relenting, lying his head on Jae's lap, the elder's hands playing with his hair and it felt nice.
"Hyung." ChangMin whispers after a moment or two of silence, "Hm?"
"Tell me a story" the younger boy buried his head in Jae's lap, hiding the pink invading his cheeks, JaeJoong chuckles at his lovable request.
"Hmmm...Let's see..." JaeJoong thought through of what ChangMin likes, something kiddy and fairytale-ish yet not too far fetched from reality.
"The prince and the pea, Kim JaeJoong's modern version?" the latter glances at ChangMin who nods with a smile.
"Once upon a time there was a prince from Korea named Prince ChangMin who wanted (well, actually forced) to marry a princess; but his mother gave him the option of hand-picking his bride but she warned him that she would have to be a real princess.
So he traveled all over the world to find one, but nowhere could he get what he wanted.
He took the airplane to Brazil, but the princess turned out to be a model instead.
Then he took the ferry to Mexico, she was just the village head's daughter - but she was pretty though!
Another first class ticket by air to Germany and he thought he may have found a real princess, turns out she was just doing a theatrical performance in those gowns.
Countless rejections and revelations that the girl weren't princesses really dejected him. So Prince ChangMin headed back to Korea in hopes of lessening his mother's anger by telling her personally that he found no princess. (But really, he's happy that no girl was gonna be his wife, he thinks girls are a little deranged though they're nice to look at)
It worked, although he got one of his credit cards suspended, it's alright, he has ten others. Meanwhile, Prince ChangMin makes use of his bachelor days to date one or two guys who caught his attention.
One evening a terrible storm came on; there was thunder and lightning, and the rain poured down in torrents. It was disturbing, the thunders affected the television signals and the occasional light outs were really annoying. Suddenly a knocking was heard at the door, and ChangMin had to open it despite his complains.
The sight that he was met with wasn't what he had expected. There stood a boy who seemed to be about his age and what a sight the rain and the wind had made him look! The water ran down his dirty blonde hair and clothes (that stuck onto him like a second skin, drenched by the rain); it ran down into the toes of his (mighty expensive looking) boots. And yet he said that he was a prince in seek of refuge, Prince JaeJoong.
ChangMin had paid no attention to any of the words the boy had said for his mind were going overload, thinking how much more beautiful this guy was in comparison to the guys he had dated and the girls he'd seen in his lifetime. He outshined them all.
Well, we'll soon find that out, thought Prince ChangMin's mother who apparently had taken a liking to the stranger (after all, he was prettier than most princesses she'd seen and he'd be a perfect match for Prince ChangMin, whether he likes him or not the boy was a perfect asset) But she said nothing, went into the bed-room, took all the bedding off the bedstead, and laid a pea on the bottom; then she took twenty mattresses and laid them on the pea, and then twenty eider-down beds on top of the mattresses.
On those the prince had to lie all night. In the morning he was asked how he had slept, all the while Prince ChangMin's eyes glued on his.
"Not very soundly." he says with a sheepish smile "It'd be a miracle if I slept. Heaven only knows what was in the bed, but I was lying on something hard, I think I must have gotten a blue-black from it. It's horrible!" Prince JaeJoong complained, reaching behind his lower back to massage a sore spot.
Prince ChangMin looks at him with pity and offered to give him a massage, he accepts it.
Later on, they went back to Prince JaeJoong's room and Prince ChangMin immediately orders that Prince JaeJoong takes off his shirt and lies down on the bed.
Prince JaeJoong nevertheless complies but when he lies down not a moment later he complains something hard was poking through the mattress.
Curious, Prince ChangMin removes the mattresses one by one to closely examine each one. Only at the last one did he find a single pea lying in the middle of the mattress.
Now they knew that he was a real prince because he had felt the pea right through the twenty mattresses and the twenty eider-down beds. Nobody but of royal blood could be as sensitive as that.
So Prince ChangMin's mother orders him to marry Prince JaeJoong, but she didn't have to do that for him to do so. Apparently Prince ChangMin had already fallen head over heels for the stranger at first glance, he was a beauty after all. I mean, porcelain skin, pouty lips, soft features an-" JaeJoong's narration was interrupted by a soft snore.
JaeJoong glanced down only to see a sleeping ChangMin, Well, that did the trick.
Caressing the younger boy's hair, JaeJoong continued staring and he hadn't known how demure his boyfriend looks when sleeping, he felt as though he fell in love all over again.
Pressing his lips onto ChangMin's temple, JaeJoong whisperd his goodnights followed by an 'I love you' and fell under the sandman's spell once again, this time without ChangMin disrupting his sleep.
When they woke up the next morning, ChangMin had bought them peas for snacks and nobody understood why the two (ChangMin and JaeJoong) were snickering to each other.
