Autism Debate Strains a Family and Its Charity
Many autistic adults despise this group because it doesn't actually, you know, have any members with autism even though it is called Autism Speaks. Of course, you wouldn't know that from reading the article, which defines the "world of autism" as non-autistic people (read: parents) with different ideas about how to "cure" it. Note the use of the phrase "dreaded neurological disorder" and the constant references to autistic "children," who apparently never grow up and develop opinions of their own :p
