LOL wishing you were my dad's caregiver instead of the girl we have.

Damn, that bad huh? Is she just lazy or a complete idiot?

Lazy. Think she may be stealing too. I was up there a week to help out and she refused to come even though I'm the one who hired her. My sister-in-law is up there now and she's coming pretty regularly.

Fire her. Being lazy when your job is to take care of someone is unforgivable. Stealing might be a misunderstanding, but being lazy rarely is. You need someone you trust in a situation like this and she clearly is not it. At the first chance you get, hire someone else. Does she have a boss you can complain to at least? That might help at least for a while. Or put up notes with instructions for EVERYTHING. In my experience, that sometimes work with lazy people. You can't give them the smallest chance to slack off.

I once worked for a old woman who's daughter put up instructions for everything from what clothes her mother would wear on a specific day to what tv showes to put on at a specific time. Every time we forgot something she would call up our boss and give her hell for half an hour. We hated her guts, but her mother always got what she wanted XD So get your best bitchy side on and give her a wake up call

Well, mom's entire jewelry box got emptied out, so not sure how much misunderstanding that is, but we put the really expensive stuff in the safe. So not much harm done.

As for her boss, we tried a service and the management was worse than the caregiver. So we bypassed the service and hired a girl who lived down the street who took care of her dad and another elderly lady. Dad is terrified of getting stuck in a nursing home, but my mom has had surgery and the meds made her completely bonkers. Plus my dad is considered a dirty old man and no one really wants to deal with him when he's in one of those moods.

LOL! Dealing with dirty old men is practically part of the job description (Do I have stories on this subject? Oh I have soooo many stories XD)

Someone who is dishonest, not to mention dumb enough to think that they can get away with stealing, on top of doing a bad job is really not the right person to take care of anyone. Try to find middle age woman with a bit of work ethics , or even better, a Taiwanese woman. No one works harder then the Taiwanese.

The service sounds terrifying, I must say. I'm guessing it was a private company. If so it really just confirms all my prejudices :D

Taiwanese in my parents' neck of the woods are like finding a specific needle in a needle stack. Plus, my dad weighs about 300 pounds so finding someone sturdy enough to manhandle him is a problem.

LOL... I have NO upper body strength so I have a lot of difficulty getting him rolled to clean him up properly. I feel bad for him. He was always a proud man.

How is your job going right now?

Oh man, you got yourself a challenge there. But on the other hand, never underestimate asian people. The things they can do O.O ( ... )
