This is indeed another world. And my first suggestion to you is not to leave that town until the weather warms up.

[Have a very cold looking man with an egg-shaped Pokemon who is happily waving at the camera on one side, and a small bear-like Pokemon somewhat hiding but looking interested on the other, all three of them huddled under a coat]

Check the backpack. You should have an extra change of clothes in there.

[He looks down at the two of them, the egg one obviously recognizing the attention and squealing happily at the Pokegear.]

Yes. This one here - [He shakily points to the squealing one] - is Hanna, the Togepi. This one here - [The bear] - is Ursa Minor, or just Minor, the Teddiursa. [The acknowledgment gets a wave to the sharply dressed man on the 'gear before going back to huddling.]

Oh, right! The backpack. I hadn't thought of that.[He starts to dig through the backpack while he speaks.]

Ah, you named them? Those are good names. [He glances at his Gastly.]

Yes, he's a Ghost Pokemon. I should give him a name too...

[He pauses for a moment and thinks.] I guess Trick would be good. Like ghost trick. Is Trick a good name?

[The Gastly seems to nod, smiling wider than ever.] Trick it is, then!

You certainly don't have to name them, but many trainers do. It would also help tell them apart if you ever got a second one like him.

[He watches the man dig through the backpack and come up with a name, nodding in agreement with his Pokemon.]

Certainly seems fitting to me.

I'm not sure either, but just in case I suppose?

[He squints a little at the screen, then sits back once more.]

A scarf. You wrap it around your neck or head...or wherever else, I suppose...to keep it warm. Used in the winter for cold weather primarily, so it looks like you're in luck.
