rant!
im so pissed off, just lodged a complaint with the equal opp commission about a local barber shop that refused to cut my hair! fuckers!
the dude there was super dumb and was saying how they only cut mens hair because men need a safe space away from women and that their insurance only covers male clients so if i didnt like my haircut that i could sue them. i was like "ive been getting my hair cut at barber shops for years and have never had any issues because i am asking for a simple clipper cut etc etc". it was just total crap and the shop was empty anyways!
so yeh i asked if they had a gender exemption and he had no idea what i was talking about. i later called the equal opp commission and was told the insurance stuff was utter crap and also found out that no barber shops have a gender exemption in australia and that as long as i was asking for a typical barber haircut that they have no right to refuse my service.
i wont actually be able to go back there cause they will hate my guts but at least i know where i stand and so will others in regards to barbers!
