[She’s on a mission. Tonks has spoken to Lucius Malfoy. It wasn’t of her own choosing, she doesn’t like him. Conversations like that, however, just seemed to happen in Mayfield. Needless to say, she’s been spoiled but she does not want to believe it

It takes a few minutes for him to answer. At first knock, there's a loud crash, the sound of glass shattering, and a muffled curse. Eventually, someone from within shouts, "Alright, alright, I'm bloody coming," and about a minute later, Sirius answers the door, looking ruffled and wearing pajamas.

Nevermind that it was mid afternoon.

"What?" He snapped, half-asleep and grumpy.

Tonks blinks. She has to double-check to make sure that she's not inside with all the sounds coming out. Maybe that's where she got her clumsiness from?

When he opens the door he finds Tonks standing there. She has her morphing abilities back but the sad, slightly woobie expression she has on her face didn't have to be morphed. "D'you die?"

Sirius can't help but soften a little at the expression on ickle Tonks' face, and he sighs. He opens the door a little further, indicating for her to come in.

"Might've done, yeah. But I'm alright now, aren't I?"

"Might've?" She frowns. "Lucius Malfoy is in town. He says you did. He said some really awful things too."

"Wait- what? Malfoy's here?!" He groans and collapses on the couch. "I thought this place was limbo, not hell."

He pats the sofa cushion beside him. "It was Bellatrix, in the department of mysteries. Horrid woman managed to stun me through the veil. I vaguely remember seeing James and Lily, and someone hit me upside the head with a cricket bat. Long story short, I woke up here. Why, what else did he tell you?"

"Yeah, he's here. I had the misfortune of speaking t'him on the phone and then on my way over here, I ran into him again. I threw my shoe at him." She had just thrown away the other one away. What good is one shoe? None.

She sits down next to him. "He said that I ended up with Remus and that we have a child. He was lying, I'm sure of it. That's what they do, lie. You can't die Sirius."

"Better than I would've done. I'd be throwing rocks. Maybe knives. Maybe a grand piano. We can't die here, I've had sudden inspiration to see how many different ways I can kill him." He sighs and runs a hand through his hair. "I dunno about the rest of it, but you two were definitely getting cozy before I- you know- kicked it."

"Would you like some help? I offer purely for scientific purposes, research and all that. Besides, you might need an alibi. No officer, we did not murder Lucius Malfoy using an ice scream scoop and bananas." Tonks sighs and leans her head back against the sofa. "You're not taking the piss are you? He doesn't even act like he likes me, well, not in the way that I want him too. And don't talk like that, you're not going to die. I won't let you."
